Sprenger Stainless Steel Full Cheek Snaffle – Copper Coated Roller
The Fulmer snaffle with a double jointed copper roller is an alternative to a lozenge acting on the horses tongue and for some horses the sweet taste of copper combined with the roller action is a novelty they like and accept better than a lozenge which has the effect of a more compliant horse during ridden work.
Recommended for horses that prove more difficult through a turn. Horses with sensitive mouth corners and lips, horses that tend to play with the bit and therefore give the rider an unsteady contact, and for horses that tend to fall out through the shoulder whilst riding or approaching an obstacle.
Bits with fixed cheeks should fit closely to both mouth corners and must therefore be chosen carefully taking into account the horses lip volume as some horses have large plump lips that fill the available space. Due to the contact of the side part to the corner of the mouth the rider achieves additional support from the rein aids when the bit sides are fitted just right.
- Double jointed with copper roller.
- Allows direct pressure transmission on the tongue and lower jaw due to the fixed mouthpiece.
- The lateral contact helps horses that tend to fall out whilst riding or approaching an obstacle.
- The bit cheek side parts prevent the bit from being pulled through the mouth

Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chrome and nickel and has a high breaking strength. It is neutral in taste, has no saliva activating properties and therefore does not increase the mouthing activity of a horse. Because of the low Edit Edit Edit Edit Production costs, the majority of stainless steel bits are made in the Far East and depending on the manufacturer may provide significant differences in quality. All SPRENGER stainless steel Edit Edit Edit Edit Products fulfil the highest quality standards.
