Chamonix Leather Close Contact Jump Saddle, which is ideal for warmblood competition horses as well as finer breeds due to the flexible gullet fitting options, this saddle is designed to carry the rider in balance due to the relation between the positioning of the stirrup iron and the saddle tree fixture point so that when leaving the ground the lower leg can remain in position and reduce any chance of the rider becoming unbalanced. The close contact fit keeps the rider close to the horse, reducing the saddles height across the horses back to reduce any saddle sideways rotation and ensuring the rider has a good level of feel to ensure more precise communication by the riders leg and seat especially through a turn.

As with other close contact saddles the shoulder has better free movement due to the reduced panel design especially important for when the horse is taking-off and the shoulder needs to rotate forwards and upwards to clear the front end and being able to improve on the horses shoulder freedom can improve the horses front leg technique.

The rear cantle ensures good support to prevent the riders pelvis collapsing backwards when driving the horse forward up into the riders hands so that the driving aids are directed correctly which is especially helpful for smaller lady riders who do not have insufficient “weight in the plate” for the bigger horses.

The close contact design features a forward-cut knee roll which assists with the correct positioning of the leg and the specifically engineered, square cantle aids and supports the natural rider action over fences.

The copolymer tree construction is immensely lightweight and has excellent crack-resistant properties which allow the tree to flex so minutely that it prevents the tree from cracking under stress but provides ideal support to the saddle. Polished leather girth straps offer custom girthing options for comfort and our synthetic fibre wool provides a system of balanced pressure distribution.

The safety flick stirrup bars allow for quick and easy application and removal of your stirrup leathers, then neatly covered by a sleek leather skirt. Front D rings accentuate the saddle and allow for the application of training aids and martingales.

Using your saddle for the first time:

Premier Equine have carried out all necessary treatment processes before delivering your saddle, so you can use it as soon as you receive it. However, for optimum softness and protections, we advise you to apply a good quality leather conditioning balsam and leave for 24 hours to allow for full absorption, out of direct sunlight. Buff with a soft cloth to remove any excess. 

Beware of the risk of staining white clothes, especially during the first few uses.

Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight or heat. Regularly clean your saddle and apply a good quality conditioning balsam to preserve the suppleness and colour of the leather. 

Store on a saddle hook/saddle stand that provides even pressure. 

Day-to-Day care:

1. Remove any dirt and debris from the surface & girth straps by wiping down your saddle with a damp, soft cloth after every use.
2. Wipe over with a dry, soft cloth to remove any excess moisture. 
3. Allow the saddle to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight and heat. 
4. Once dry, apply a high-quality leather balsam. Take care not to over-saturate the leather and in particular; the girth straps*.
5. Allow the saddle to dry naturally in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight and heat. 
6. Once dry, apply your saddle cover for protection. 

If your saddle has come into contact with water, allow it to dry naturally out of direct sunlight or heat. Once dry, apply a high-quality leather balsam and store your saddle in a dry place. 

• Do not place dirty accessories over the top of the saddle.
• Do not clean the saddle with products containing solvent or glycerine soap as these substances will damage the integrity of the saddle.
• Do not treat/grease a saddle that has not been cleaned first as this poses the risk of letting dirt penetrate the leather, damaging it.
• Please note: During the summer months, you may need to increase the frequency in which you treat your leather saddle as the sun and higher temperatures can dehydrate the leather.
• *Warning: over-saturation of the leather & leather girth straps can cause over-absorption which can deteriorate the leather. Do not over-saturate your saddle and girth straps. 

For optimum performance and longevity: apply a high-quality leather conditioning balsam at least twice a month to maintain the suppleness of the leather.

All Premier Equine Saddles come with a 1-year manufacturing guarantee from the invoice date.

This covers any manufacturing issue that may be present in a product, it does not cover damage through use, excessive wear and general wear and tear.

Proof of purchase must be provided, Premier Equine do not accept responsibility for products sold to a third party. Goods becoming damaged in your opinion through defective materials or poor workmanship should be returned for inspection immediately. Under no circumstances should items be continued to be used when damaged, as you will be deemed to have accepted the goods in their damaged condition. Accidental damage and general wear and tear are not covered. Postage fees will be reimbursed for justified damages. If you choose to use a returns postage service other than the one offered to you by Saddlemasters, we will refund the return postage cost up to the value of £10 ONLY
