The Neue Schule Tranz mouthpiece is ergonomically designed for comfort and has a slightly thicker mouthpiece so that young horses can gain confidence in seeking the contact as it has a16mm thick mouth piece that reduces the pressure over the bit surfaces found in the 14mm version, and it is also a bit used for horses that are being re-schooled who usually find it very acceptable. This bit version has a soft and gentle action that is designed to alleviate tension in the mouth which then softens the overall outline as contact is taken up allowing active forward movement instead of causing what is known as blocking in the mouth.
The Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge is designed to align at 20° to the bore axes of the cheeks. When a contact is taken, the smoothly profiled lozenge acts on the centre of the tongue affording the rider with a high level of communication.
The double joint allows more flexibility ensuring a clearer and more independent rein aid for active shoulder lift or flexion purposes especially during lateral work where the shoulder needs to remain free to extend through.
This is a very widely used bit for a whole range of reasons and which is very popular with anyone hacking eventing or for jumping.
- Neue Schule bits are made from a high copper alloy used for its high thermal conductivity and anti-tarnishing properties; Salox® Gold quickly reaches body temperature and so encourages relaxation and acceptance of the bit which stainless steel bits take much longer to do which creates a well accepted mouth piece.
