The Nathe 20mm thick Mullen Mouth Pelham with Flex with short shanks is a bit used with great success due to the flexible mouth piece that will mould around the tongue under rein tension and apply light pressure to the bars and lips of the horses mouth while providing a measured level of poll pressure within the process which is assisted by the short shank side pieces exerting the poll leverage from the underside of the bit and also applying pressure to the jaw line. A very comprehensive level of gentle and combined actions on different points of the horses mouth and related pressure points which is further assisted by the use of a curb chain with the aim of reducing the any high level of concentration of pressure on any single point.
