MB06 Myler Low Port Mullen Barrel Plain Eggbutt Snaffle -Level 2

The MBO6 is a level 2 mouth piece, with a ¾ inch port and independent side movement. There is no wrapping action, the bit gives more “feel” directly onto the lips and bars.This mouthpiece is a step up in tongue relief from Level 2, but because the port is low, it does not offer as much tongue relief as other Level 2-3 mouthpieces with slightly higher ports because the tongue is still somewhat restricted. Although the port is ¾” high, it provides just enough room to allow the horses tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure to come into action.

The eggbutt is regarded as a traditional cheek design which keeps the mouthpiece from casually lying on the tongue as it is not supported by loose rings. The eggbutt side pieces provide more directional support to the action, providing a more direct signal than a loose ring design. This means that the horse finds it easier to find the riders hands and form a contact, furthermore the straight sides of the eggbutt will not pull through the horses mouth and the design of the bit sides does not allow for any pinching of the lips.

The riders signal is communicated with simple clarity that the horse can understand and respond to. The MB06 is better suited to horses who react better to a solid-action instead of a non-collapsing bit and is very popular with younger horses that are making their way through training.
