MB04 Myler Low Port Comfort Snaffle Medium Combo

The Myler Low port comfort snaffle medium combo is a hybrid combination of ring bit and shank bit, with the added influence of a hackamore. The action of the bit is to divide and share the rein pressure exerted by the riders hand over several different contact areas. Initially the bit acts on the nose, poll and back of the jaw, while the mouthpiece is floating on a loose ring. The total pressure applied by the rider is distributed over these three areas and this allows for a greater combination of pressure without concentration on one or two specific contact points and it therefore provides for a strong signal to the horse without causing undue discomfort.

If the rider increases the rein tension further the mouth piece moves up against the stop on the cheek ring and engages so that the bit is acting on the tongue and bars as you would expect a mouth piece to do. At this moment the the riders rein pressure is spread around five contact areas being the nose ,poll, jaw,tongue, and bars of the mouth.

A fantastic option for the competitive show jumper for horses that are mouth sensitive and might get a little anxious during competition while providing the rider with the security of having a bit in the mouth that acts on the mouth slightly later with the increasing rein pressure sequence. The Myler MB04 combination bit increases the pressure if the horse comes above the vertical line and rewards them when they begin lowering the head by releasing this pressure and so this is an aspect of great interest to riders looking to arrive at there fences in balance to ensure a clean bascule over the obstacle in question.
