The Myler MB04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle is a good choice for horses that suit a bit that provides adequate tongue relief whatever stages of training they are at through to intermediate level in general.
The bit is designed to work off the lips, bars and tongue, it encourages the horse to relax at the poll by offering tongue relief before further rein tension begins to restrict the tongue. Independent side movement allows the rider to isolate one side and maximise free movement of the relevant shoulder up into the hand. A good alternative to the traditional snaffle, the MB04 Eggbutt snaffle with hooks works well for enabling flexion and lateral movement as it encourages the horse to relax from the poll softening the contact as the bit wraps around the outer lip.
The Myler MB04 Low port comfort snaffle eggbutt with hooks has a small, ¾ inch port for tongue relief. The ergonomic mouth piece has a wrapping action that removes any pinch or nutcracker action.
The bit has a direct action, and it allows for the same amount of rein pressure to the mouth with a more direct signal than a loose ring version, and it will not pull through the horses mouth or pinch.
Additional control options are available as hooks are built in to the Eggbutt Rings. Hooks allow for the attachment of the reins and bridle cheek pieces and allow the bit to work like a leverage bit. When reins are pulled upward and backward, the mouthpiece rolls downward and backward into the mouth while also pulling downward from the poll. This is very useful for horses that tend to go with a higher head carriage.
A curb chain can also be attached for use with the rein attached on the curb chain fixing points to increase the severity of the bit by adding jaw line pressure. The curb chains are sold separately.
