The Colin Miles Loose Ring from Bombers Bits has a 55mm centre piece with rings. This produces tongue pressure if the horse becomes strong and also gives the horse something to play with, which promotes a soft contact and helps to keep the horses concentration on the bit.
The loose rings make the bit mobile within the horses mouth, further encouraging playing with the mouthpiece and relaxation. They also allow an instantaneous release of tongue and bar pressure when the rein aids are loosened, thus rewarding a correct response to the aids.
The double joint means the mouthpiece follows the contours of the horses mouth, which decreases the nutcracker action associated with single jointed bits, and resultant bar and palate pressure.
Additionally, all bomber bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- Oxidises easily
- Encourages salivation
- Helps bit acceptance
- Is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.
