The BC45 2.5 Ring by Bombers Bit Control Plate is set at 45° to match the contour of the horses tongue.
Consequently, a horse who uses his tongue as a means of pushing against the bit and therefore taking control, will draw back and tuck his chin in, coming back to a better point of control. Furthermore, this differs from a Dr Bristol which sits horizontally with the edge of the plate on the tongue.
A Ring cheek piece introduces poll pressure as well creating leverage on the mouthpiece. As a result, the 2 ½ ring version is the softest version of ring bit. The ½ ring softens the leverage on the mouthpiece and poll.
Additionally, all bomber bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- Oxidises easily
- Encourages salivation
- Helps bit acceptance
- Is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.
